First a lot of bad news, but read on for a positive game-changer. If there’s one thing Republicans across Illinois should all be able to agree on at this point, it’s this: the Illinois Republican Party is dead. And I don’t mean dead like people said it was after the innumerable other disappointing elections for the GOP in Illinois over the past couple of decades. Let’s not kid ourselves, 2022 is far from the only year the Illinois Republican Party embarrassingly underperformed the GOP in states where the state party takes a serious approach.
When you consider the Illinois Republican situation as Mr. Ibendahl has just described, and then combine it with the questionable losses Republicans have endured since 2016 - especially the AZ 2022 race - the growing sentiment of "Why Vote" nationally is going to be even more difficult to overcome in Illinois...and thus, the insanity will continue.
I have only been involved in politics for about a year, an Elected P.C., from what I have seen of this Republican Party as an outsider is absolutely disgusting. It is Selections not Elections. I Have nothing against my current Chairman but I would like to have had a choice of who vote for on my County Board and Township Chairman and not told that this is who I have to vote for.
Also there are (America First) Candidates whose own Township sabotaged them. I only know of two that happened to in DuPage County I am there are more than two.
